This year’s Men’s Retreat is on January 11-12, 2025, at Tabernacle in the Fellowship Hall. The theme is “Custom Made: We are made by Christ to do good works” (Eph. 2:10). Our guest speaker is Dr. Tim Smith, Director of Missions for the Floyd County Baptist Association. All Tabernacle men and their friends are welcome. Tabernacle’s Christmas Store is Sunday, December 8 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm in the Life Center Gym. We need your help in serving local families thisChristmas. You can sign up for a family in the Welcome Center on November 10, 17, 24, and December 1. You may also sign up online or by contacting Doyle Akins at 678-386-6371. We will provide canned food items for each family. These may be donated in the hallway bin near the Fellowship Hall labeledChristmasStore. Food will also be collected at the Thanksgiving Meal. Additionally, gently used items will be accepted in the Life Center Gym from December 1-9.
Help decorate our church for Christmas by purchasing a Poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one. Each plant is $16, and order forms may be found at the Help Desk in the Welcome Center, or you may order here online. The deadline is Wednesday, December 11. Plants can be taken home after the Christmas Eve Service on Sunday, December 24 and can be paid for with cash, check, or online.
On Sunday, December 22 at 5 PM, we will have a meditative time to observe The Lord’s Supper without spoken words or singing. This shorter service will be accompanied by instrumental music and will focus our hearts around Christ’s sacrifice for us through specific scripture passages and prayers. Childcare is not provided for this service.
On Tuesday, December 24 at 5 PM, we will have a family Christmas Eve Service as our church gathers to sing carols and light candles together! Childcare will not be provided as this is a family worship service. We welcome all ages to worship together for this special evening.
